The National Center for Responsible Gaming (NCRG) is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our CollegeGambling.org web site (the “Site”), and we have created the following policy to demonstrate our commitment to you. This privacy policy advises our visitors of the types of information that may be collected online on this Site and the practices that the NCRG follows with respect to the use and dissemination of such information.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this privacy policy, please contact us at info@ncrg.org.
The Site collects personally identifiable information from you when you voluntarily communicate with the NCRG by completing a form or survey, such as the “Contact Us” form. Personally identifiable information is information such as your name, physical address, e-mail address, telephone number or credit card information. In addition, our web servers automatically collect and log web usage data and other non-personal information from you when you visit the Site. This information, including your IP address, referring site, pages viewed and length of visit, informs us about how visitors use and navigate our Site. We may also use a third party service such as Google Analytics to track trends and Site usage.
We use personally identifiable information provided to us on the Site to respond to your request or feedback and to improve the content and effectiveness of the Site. We may also use your personally identifiable information to contact you to solicit additional feedback about the Site and its effectiveness or to inquire whether you would like to be added to the NCRG’s database and receive further information and communications from the NCRG.
We do not sell or share the personally identifiable information we collect on the Site with non-affiliated third parties for their own use. However, we will provide personally identifiable information to non-affiliated third parties in response to subpoenas, court orders, or to otherwise comply with law, to protect our interests, or when we believe in good faith the law requires it.
In addition, we may use and share with others aggregated and/or anonymous (not personally identifiable) information that we have collected based on web-usage data or statistical information that we have compiled about our users.
Like most web sites, we employ cookies to help visitors more efficiently use the Site. A cookie is a string of information that is sent by a web site and stored on a user’s hard drive. We use cookies to continually enhance your experience, and may use them to store your preferences and to customize content specific to your needs. If you do not want your browser to accept cookies, you can modify the cookie option in your browser’s settings. Each browser is different, so you will need to check your specific browser’s “Help” menu to learn how to change the cookie preferences. You can also set your browser to notify you when a site sends you a cookie. However, some Site features or services may not function properly without cookies.
If the personally identifiable information you provided us changes, or if you no longer wish to receive communications from us, or if you wish to inquire about information that we have collected from the Site, please contact us at info@ncrg.org.
While we have measures in place to help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security and make proper use of the information that we collect, no transmission of data over the Internet is guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of any information you provide to us.
We make content from affiliated and other third-party web sites available to you from optional links located on the Site. Please be aware that these web sites are not subject to this NCRG privacy policy, and we thus recommend that you review the privacy policy of each such web site to determine how that web site protects your privacy.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information on the Site from children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have personally identifiable information on a child under the age of 13 we will delete that information.
Please note that the Site is directed towards users who reside in the United States. It is not our intent to gather personally identifiable information from individuals residing outside of the United States. If you are located outside of the United States, the information you provide to the NCRG will be transferred to the United States whose laws may not provide the same level of protection for personal information as your home country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.
The NCRG reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices. Any changes to this Site’s privacy policy, including information collected and the use and disclosure of information, will be posted here. Following any modification, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this privacy policy, so be sure to check back periodically for the most current version of our privacy policy.
